Jordan Hicks started 28-of-45 games at Texas – 13 at weak-side outside linebacker, eight at strong-side and seven in the middle…Recorded 299 tackles (48 solos) with 5.5 sacks, 24.0 stops for losses and eight quarterback pressures…Had a pair of interceptions, seven pass deflections and one fumble recovery…Also recorded 12 tackles (seven solos) as a member of the special team coverage unit.

NCAA Career-Record Results: Among active NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision players, Hicks ranks 28th with 299 total tackles.

School Season-Record Results: Hicks became the 11th Longhorn to record 140 tackles in a season, as his 147 hits in 2014 tied Tony Degrate (1984) for seventh on the annual list behind Britt Hager (195 in 1988; 187 in 1987), Lionel Johnson (175 in 1976), Winfred Tubbs (157 in 1992), Bill Hamilton (154 in 1976) and Tony Edwards (149 in 1984).

2014 SEASON

Hicks took over weak-side outside linebacker duties, returning to the position he originally played when he first enrolled at the university…The sixth-year senior earned second-team All-American honors from Walter Camp and the Football Writers Association and was a first-team All-Big Twelve Conference selection from The NFL Draft Report and the Austin American Statesman, adding second-team accolades from the Associated Press and the league’s coaches...Led the team with a career-high 147 tackles (75 solos), which rank tied for seventh on the UT all-time single-season list and are the most by a Longhorn since Winfred Tubbs tallied 157 in 1992...Tied for second on the team in tackles for loss (13.0 for 36 yards) and fourth in interceptions (two for 19 yards in returns)...Added 3.5 sacks for minus 12 yards and a pair of pass deflections, as the semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award (top defensive player in the nation) recorded eight double-digit tackle outputs.

2014 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS

Posted 14 tackles, including two for loss and a half sack vs. Brigham Young and recorded a career-high 18 tackles, including two for a loss, one pass breakup and a QB pressure vs. UCLA...Added 15 tackles (one for a loss), an interception and a quarterback pressure vs. Kansas, as he was named the Big Twelve Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his performance vs. the Jayhawks and shared the team’s defensive player of the game award with Malcom Brown and Duke Thomas...Had 12 tackles vs. Baylor and a team-high 11 hits vs. Oklahoma, including one for a loss and one on special teams...Tied a career high with 18 stops, including two for a loss and one sack, and one pass breakup vs. Iowa State...Had seven tackles vs. Kansas State and recorded 10 stops vs. Texas Tech...Led the team with 15 tackles (11 solo), including one for a loss, vs. West Virginia...Produced six tackles, including two for a loss (one sack), vs. Oklahoma State...Made four stops, including one sack, and two QB pressures vs. Texas Christian…Tied for the game high with nine tackles vs. Arkansas in the Texas Bowl.

2013 SEASON

Hicks started the team’s first four games at middle linebacker before he suffered an Achilles tendon injury vs. Kansas that would sideline him for the rest of the year…Posted with 41 tackles (21 solos), three stops behind the line of scrimmage and a QB pressure…Named to the Nagurski Trophy watch list, the preseason first-team All-Big Twelve pick by Athlon and the league’s media recorded nine stops vs. New Mexico State...Had a season-high 16 tackles and one QB pressure vs. Brigham Young…Tied Adrian Phillips with a team-high nine tackles vs. Ole Miss and registered seven tackles, including a career-high three for a loss, vs. Kansas State before leaving the game with an Achilles injury which ended his season.

2012 SEASON

Hicks manned the middle linebacker position for the first three games before suffering a hip injury that would sideline him for the final ten contests, earning a medical redshirt... Named to the Lombardi Award watch list and tabbed a preseason first-team All-Big Twelve choice by Athlon magazine, he recorded 23 tackles (12 solos) with one QB pressure and three stops-for-loss…Posted eight tackles, including one for a loss, one QB pressure and a pass break-up vs. Wyoming, as he also nearly blocked a Cowboys punt...Had a season-best 12 tackles, including a season-high tying two tackles for loss, vs. New Mexico...Also notched three tackles vs. Ole Miss before leaving the game with a hip injury...Shared the team’s Dr. Nasser Al-Rashid Strength & Conditioning Award with Desmond Jackson and Mason Walters.

2011 SEASON

The first-team Academic All-Big Twelve Conference selection played in thirteen games, starting eight contests at strong-side outside linebacker…Ranked sixth on the team with 65 tackles (31 solos), adding a 5-yard sack, four stops for minus nine yards, a fumble recovery and four pass deflections…Posted eight tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack and one pass deflection while helping the defense hold California to seven rushing yards and 195 yards of total offense in the 2011 Holiday Bowl...In his first career start, he made five tackles (three solos) and two pass break-ups in the season-opener vs. Rice…Added 11 tackles, one pass deflection and one QB pressure vs. Brigham Young…Notched 10 tackles and one fumble recovery at Missouri…Tied for second on the team with six tackles vs. Oklahoma State…Helped the defense hold Kansas State to 121 yards of total offense with his five tackles…Recorded three tackles vs. UCLA, Iowa State and Texas Tech.

2010 SEASON

Hicks appeared in all twelve games on special teams and eight games at weak-side out-side linebacker…Named honorable mention Big Twelve Conference Defensive Freshman of the Year by the league’s coaches…Posted 23 tackles (nine solo), one sack, one stop for a 6-yard loss and one pressure.

INJURY REPORT

2013 Season: Suffered an Achilles tendon injury vs. Kansas, missing the final nine games.

2012 Season: Suffered a hip injury vs. Mississippi that forced him to the sidelines for the Longhorns’ final ten contests.

2011 Season: Missed part of spring drills with a groin injury…Played most of the year with a nagging hamstring injury.
