The Green Bay Packers will be without three starters for Sunday’s game at San Francisco.
For the third time in four weeks, safety Morgan Burnett will be out with an injured calf. Micah Hyde will replace him at safety. Starting cornerback Casey Hayward figures to take Hyde’s role in the slot in Green Bay’s nickel package, with Damarious Randall being the third cornerback.
Receiver Davante Adams will miss the game due to an ankle injury sustained two weeks ago against Seattle and aggravated on the opening series last week against Kansas City. Rookie Ty Montgomery will be the No. 3 receiver. Jared Abbrederis, who was promoted from the practice squad on Saturday, is on the 46-man game-day roster for the first time in his career.
Burnett and Adams were listed as questionable on Friday but downgraded to doubtful on Saturday.
Also, Bryan Bulaga will miss a third consecutive game at right tackle. Don Barclay again will take his place.
The other inactives: quarterback Brett Hundley, cornerback Demetri Goodson (hamstring), linebacker Jake Ryan (hamstring) and guard Lane Taylor.
For San Francisco, the lone starter who will be sidelined Vernon Davis (knee). He has seven touchdowns in seven career games against the Packers while averaging more than 20 yards per reception. The others: receiver DeAndrew White, running back Mike Davis, cornerbback Shareece Wright, center Brandon Thomas, offensive lineman Ian Silberman and nose tackle Mike Purcell. Wright has been upset about his role on the defense.
