Aaron Rodgers Not Listed on Initial Injury Report

Fifteen players are listed on the injury report as the Green Bay Packers get ready for Thursday night's game vs. Chicago.

Health will be one of the primary points of emphasis as the Green Bay Packers get ready for Thursday night’s game against the Chicago Bears.

The Packers don’t have much time to bounce back physically from Sunday evening’s victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Fifteen players were listed on the initial injury report, though that lengthy list did not include quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers was limited at Wednesday’s practice with an injured throwing shoulder but was a full participant on Thursday and threw with his typical zip against the Vikings.

“It’s feeling OK, Rodgers said after the game. “It doesn’t help when it’s 30 degrees, but when I was able to get loosened up pregame, it felt good. So, I’ll be fine from here on out.”

If the Packers would have practiced on Monday, receivers Jared Abbrederis and Ty Montgomery, right tackle Bryan Bulaga, center Corey Linsley, defensive back Micah Hyde and defensive tackle Mike Pennel would not have participated. Coach Mike McCarthy is hopeful for Linsley and Hyde, though he'd have a clearer picture on Tuesday.

“The biggest challenge on a short turnaround for Thursday night football frankly is the health of the team,” McCarthy said on Monday. “I've always felt that was the biggest challenge, particularly when you have a player that may have an injury that he could get himself back in seven days as opposed to four or five. I think that's the biggest challenge.”

Four of the five members of the offensive line are on the list, with Linsley and Bulaga joined by guards T.J. Lang and Josh Sitton. Left tackle David Bakhtiari, who sat out the final 30 snaps against Detroit eight days ago because of a knee injury, is not on the list.

Noteworthy for Chicago, tight end Martellus Bennett, receiver Eddie Royal and safety Antrel Rolle would not have practiced.
