Vince Lombardi led the Packers to an unprecedented five championships and two Super Bowls. His Packers are now working together once again as a team. In 2001 they established the Vince Lombardi Titletown Legends charitable organization to carry on the rich traditions of pride, integrity and dedication to the community, which Coach Lombardi instilled in all of them. Co-chairmen, Willie Davis and Bob Skoronski are joined by all of Lombardi's players and coaches including Vince Lombardi Jr., Bart Starr, Paul Hornung, Jerry Kramer, Fuzzy Thurston, Jim Taylor, Willie Wood, Max McGee and more than 65 others.

Knight will be the first honorary Lombardi Legend to be inducted into their organization. The Honorary Lombardi Legends Program pays tribute to those individuals who possess the characteristics instilled by Vince Lombardi in all of his players; Dedication, Teamwork, Respect, Love, Family and Discipline. The goal is to expand the membership of the Legends to include individuals who share the vision and mission of the organization. The Honorary Legends selected are people who are committed and willing to donate their time to assist the Legends in their mission of raising funds.

"In reviewing prospects for the first inductee of the Lombardi Legends Coach Bob Knight's qualifications put him at the top of our list. His commitment to excellence, and his will to win mirror that of Coach Lombardi, said Bob Skoronski, Co-captain of Lombardi's Green Packer teams 65, 66, 67 and Co-chairman of the Vince Lombardi Titletown Legends. I have watched him at practice and at games, his approach is identical to that of Lombardi. The Lombardi Legends are proud to have Coach Knight on our team and look forward to his induction and his participation in the Lombardi Leadership Event on August 20th in Green Bay.

"As a great admirer of Vince Lombardi and his teams, I can think of no greater distinction than being an honorary member of this very, very special group. I'm particularly pleased that Bob Skoronski has been very active in the group as I've had no closer friend in my life," said Coach Bob Knight.

Knight will join Bart Starr, Vince Lombardi Jr., Jerry Kramer, Willie Davis, Max McGee at the Lombardi Leadership Event on Aug. 20 in Green Bay. Knight will be featured as a keynote speaker. During the daylong event the speakers will share their knowledge of how Coach Lombardi's techniques helped them achieve unprecedented success. The event is open to the public and tickets are available to (920) 499-7138 or at lombardilegends.com.

All proceeds from that event benefit the Vince Lombardi Titletown Legends. The evening of Aug 20th there will be a special fundraising cocktail event and dinner event at Lombardi's Steakhouse in Appleton, WI. Coach Knight's induction ceremony will take place at that event.

"It is incredible that an entire decade of players have come together, working together as a cohesive team, donating their time to raise money that will help others. To have a man like Coach Knight become a member of that team and commit to helping raise funds demonstrates the true spirit of teamwork and dedication that coach Lombardi believed in" said Jennifer Smith Executive director of the Vince Lombardi Titletown Legends Non-profit organization.

The Lombardi Leadership Event featuring Coach Knight and is open to the public a variety of ticket packages are available. A limited number if tickets will also be made available for Coach Knight's induction event.
