Recapping Day 7 of Green Bay Packers Training Camp

For the first time during training camp, injuries are becoming an issue. Also, what was the play of the game and what rookie continues to impress?

Because of injuries, heat or both, Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy ended practice more than a half-hour early on Wednesday. Here's the injury list:

Physically unable to perform list

ILB Sam Barrington (foot)

C Corey Linsley (hamstring)

WR Jordy Nelson (knee)

WR Ty Montgomery (ankle)

TE Jared Cook (foot)

New injuries

QB Brett Hundley (ankle)

CB Makinton Dorleant (hamstring)

RB Eddie Lacy (leg)

ILB Jake Ryan (hamstring)

OT Kyle Murphy (concussion)

OT Josh James (hamstring)

OT Bryan Bulaga (rest/knee)

DT Mike Daniels (personal)

TE Mitchell Henry (groin)

Said Packers coach Mike McCarthy before practice: "I think you have to just keep your eye on the target, and that’s why I’m more focused on these install practices, because we won’t get these opportunities back,” McCarthy said. “These 2-hour and 45-minute practices are critical. You’re not going to do that all through training camp. That’s not the best approach for your football team. These are going to be two knock-down, drag-out practices tonight and tomorrow, and we’ll see where we are come Friday. Come Friday, we might have to adjust our approach to the game. That’s part of how training camp goes and it’s part of the developing of training a team, and that’s part of the risk that’s involved in going through an NFL training camp.”
