Green Bay Packers receiver Randall Cobb, who has been inactive the past two games because of an ankle injury, returned to practice on a limited basis on Wednesday.
"Very difficult. Very frustrating, but that’s the way it went," Cobb said. "It’s part of this game, but I’m excited to get back out on the field."
While the Packers' offense has rolled without Cobb the past two weeks (and a zero-catch game at Chicago the week before), his return would be a big asset. He caught nine passes for a season-high 108 yards in the first matchup, a 23-16 victory. He had five third-down conversions in that game, including the clincher on third-and-10.
"I hope to (be a difference maker)," Cobb said. "I try to whenever I get the ball, to make plays, but they’re a great defense. It’s going to be a tough game."
Four players did not practice for Green Bay, including cornerback Quinten Rollins, who suffered a concussion and neck injury during the third quarter at Detroit, and inside linebacker Joe Thomas, who started the game but dropped out early because of a back injury. Outside linebacker Julius Peppers was held out for rest, as has been the trend the pat few weeks.
For the Giants, defensive end Jason PierrePaul, who has missed the last four games with a core-muscle injury, was the only player to not practice.
