Packers sign WR Chris Jackson

Antonio Freeman isn't the only former Packer receiver to rejoin the team Wednesday. WR Chis Jackson, who had a cup of coffee with the team in 2002, signed with Green Bay and is expected on the practice field this afternoon.<P>

Jackson, 6-1, 203 pounds, was with Miami during this preseason. He had three catches for 27 yeards during the exhibition campaign. He was waived Aug. 27 as the Dolphins cut their roster to 65.

In his stint with the Packers, Jackson signed as a free agent on Aug. 1, 2002 and spent the preseason in Green Bay before being waived Sept. 1 in the team's final roster cut. He was re-signed Sept. 28 played against Carolina the following day, before being waived Oct. 1.

Jackson, 28, was originally signed by Seattle as a free agent in 1998 and spent most of the '98 and '99 season on the Seahawks practice squad. He lated signed with Tennessee in 2000 and played in one game with the Titans before his season was ended by a back injury.

The Washington State product also had a short but stellar Arena Football League career. He played for the Los Angeles Avengers and was the league's Rookie of the Year.

Jackson will wear No. 81 with the Packers.
