Green is Player of the Week

Running back Ahman Green was the named the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week for his performance in the Packers 38-23 win over the Chicago Bears Monday night.<p>

Green was the top vote-getter in the poll which concluded at noon Thursday.

The running back's 176 yards were the third-highest total in Packer history. Green's output was also the highest by a Packer player in the 166-game Packer-Bear series.

Green's 176 yards were the fourth-highest overall total in the Packer-Bear rivalry. Walter Payton (Oct. 30, 1977) and Gale Sayers (Nov. 3, 1968) each posted a 205-yard game against the Packers. Payton ran for 192 yards at Lambeau Field Nov. 3, 1985. His total was buoyed by a 60-yard scoring run in the first quarter that was the longest by a Packer against the Bears in 14 seasons.
