ST. LOUIS - Here are some of Packers coach and general manager Mike Sherman's comments to the media following his team's 34-24 loss to the St. Louis Rams on Sunday in the Edward Jones Dome:<p>

on how long he can live with Ahman Green fumbling the ball:

"I read somewhere today that people have called him one of the best backs in football. It's something that I think we can get fixed. He's a guy who at times has fallen into a little bit ofa slump in regard to this and he's fixed it, and we plan on fixing it this bye week. No one feels more disappointed about that than me or him, so I guarantee that it will get fixed and he'll be wrapping up. Most of his fumbles are not a result of negligence as much as they are trying to get an extra yard or two. Sometimes he just has to take what they give him."

On effect of Green and Najeh Davenport's fumbles on the game:

"Najeh's fumble I don't think resulted in points. I think we in turn got one back there. But 17 points to a team like this ... you turn the ball over four times, it's almost impossible on any team, I don't care who you play. You're on the road, you turn the ball over four times, it's going to be very difficult to win.

"I thought we came out in the second half and we went down the field and scored. I thought we were back in the ballgame and were going to make a strong run at this thing, but it wasn't meant to be. We didn't finish it out."

on if it seems like he's seen this game before:

"We played good enough to make it close. We still lost the game. We just played stupid football today. We didn't do the things you have to do to win a football game, particularly against a good team, particularly on the road."

on the Rams stopping the Packers running game:

"Well, you have to understand that this is a very good, very fast run defense. They got us from the backside, from the backside chase. I thought they played real well. We were a shoe tackle away from breaking a run that we have broken in the past that we didn't break today."

on if there was a communication problem on the botched punt return:

"Obviously there was because it did deflect and (Harris) was not aware."

on where the Packers go from here with ineffective pass rush:

"I didn't see a whole lot of bright spots on our pass rush, necessarily. We did get a sack from Cletidus Hunt. They max protected a couple of times, but it did appear that we gave them too much time against quality receivers in (Isaac) Bruce and (Torry) Holt."
