Packers to pay tribute to Canadeo

Players will wear helmet decal with running back's number 3

The Packers will pay tribute to the late Tony Canadeo for the rest of the 2003 season by wearing a decal of Canadeo's retired jersey number 3 on the back of their helmets. The Hall of Fame halfback is one of four players in team history to have his jersey number retired. Canadeo died Saturday at the age of 84.

A moment of silence in tribute to the "Grey Ghost of Gonzaga," as Canadeo was known in his playing days, also will be observed prior to the singing of the national anthem Sunday prior to the Packers-Bears game at Lambeau Field.

The Packers flag in front of team headquarters, at 1265 Lombardi Avenue, is being flown at half-staff in his memory and will continue to be through Sunday.
