NFL Europe-bound players receive assignments

The Amsterdam Admirals' roster will include five players allocated for the NFL Europe by the Packers, as Green Bay's contingent headed for the spring league received assignments Tuesday.<p>

Fullback Kris Briggs, cornerback Derek Combs, tight end Tony Donald, linebacker Steve Josue and wide receiver Corey Parchman are all heading to Amsterdam, the Packers announced Tuesday.

Three will join the Frankfurt Galaxy: Jason Jimenez, wide receiver Wilson Thomas and linebacker Ralph Turner. Another trio will join the new Cologne Centurians: cornerback Erwin Swiney and defensive ends Cullen Jenkins and Eric Powell.

The lone allocation to the Rhein Fire of Dusseldorf, Germany is running back Walter Williams.

No Packers allocated players were assigned to the Scottish Claymores - Craig Nall's '03 team - or the Berlin Thunder.

The players will report to training camp Feb. 27, working toward combined practices/scrimmages in mid-march. Game-condition scrimmages, which feature all six teams entering their potential starting lineups in scrimmages, are set for March 20.

The regular season begins April 3.
