Bidwell to meet with Dolphins

Josh Bidwell, who became an unrestricted free agent last week, is scheduled to meet today with the Miami Dolphins, according to reports. Bidwell has been the punter for the Green Bay Packers since he was drafted in 1999.<p>

The Packers signed free agent Travis Dorsch in early January, though, Dorsch was out of football in 2003. Dorsch played for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2002.

Bidwell averaged 41.7 yards per punt in 2003 but struggled in the playoffs against Seattle and Philadelphia. The Dolphins have been seeking a replacement for Matt Turk, whom they released this off-season.

Packers coach and GM Mike Sherman expressed confidence in Bidwell at the end of the season, but it is unlikely that the Packers will pay much more than the veterans' minimum to re-sign Bidwell.
