Making some noise

The Packers again made themselves heard in NFL Europe action, coming up with a couple touchdowns and takeaways over the weekend.<P>

Tight end Tony Donald helped the Amsterdam Admirals stay alive in the World Bowl race with a 17-10 win over the Cologne Centurions Saturday.

Donald had five catches for 53 yards and a touchdown for the Admirals (3-4).

Two Packers recorded takeaways in that game, one for each side. Linebacker Steve Josue came up with a takeaway in the end zone in the second quarter. Cologne cornerback Erwin Swiney had a diving pick late in the third quarter. Swiney led his team in tackles with six.

Another Packer getting on the scoreboard this weekend was wide receiver Shockmain Davis of the Rhein Fire, who returned a kickoff for a TD for the second time this season. This time Davis went 87 yards for the touchdown, but the Thunder overcame Davis' lightning as Berlin beat the Fire 33-20 Sunday.

In other NFL Europe action in Week 7, Frankfurt beat Scotland 27-24.

Next weekend Scotland plays at Amsterdam Friday, Frankfurt hosts Berlin Saturday and Rhein travels to Cologne Sunday.
