Family Night returns

Family Night – a relatively new tradition that was sorely missed during its construction-related absence – returns to Lambeau Field this summer, the team announced. Tickets for the event go on sale in two weeks.<P>

"Packers Family Night, presented by Fox 11" is set for Saturday, Aug. 7. The event features an intrasquad scrimmage inside Lambeau Field, followed by an on-field interview session with GM/Head Coach Mike Sherman and players.

The team debuted the event in 1999, when 46,420 fans witnessed the scrimmage. The crowd reached more than 50,000 the following year and close to that in 2001. Family night had to go on hiatus in 2002-03 due to Lambeau Field construction.

With tickets at $8 and open to the public, Family Night gives non-season-ticket holders a chance to see the team in action on the storied field.

The slate includes warm-ups, 7-on-7 drills, the controlled scrimmage, interview session and fireworks. Twenty scrimmage-worn jerseys will then be given to attending fans through a random drawing.

Tickets go on sale June 5. Sale times and outlets will be announced at a later date, the team announced .The event will be televised on the Packers' preseason television network throughout the state of Wisconsin.
