Packers sign DE Rogers

The Packers added free-agent defensive end Tyrone Rogers to the roster Friday, GM/Head coach Mike Sherman announced.<P>

Rogers had five NFL seasons under his belt, all of them with the Cleveland Browns. The 30-year-old DE played played in eight games with three starts last year in the final three weeks of the regular season. He finished strong with 17 tackles, five QB pressures, one sack and one tackle for loss in those three starts.

Signed as an undrafted rookie out of Alambama State in 1999, Rogers spent the first 11 games of his rookie season on the Brown's practice squad. He was promoted to Cleveland's 53-man roster the final five weeks of that season and saw action in three games.

Rogers (6-5, 280 pounds) has tallied 57 career games with 18 starts plus one post-season start. He has posted 108 tackles, 12 sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He saw special teams action as well with 13 tackles.
