Green and Gold still red-hot

More fans may be back in Raider black, but the team from the NFL's tiniest town is holding its own in the No. 3 spot on the NFL's list of hottest merchandise.<p>

The Packers are third behind Oakland and two-time Super Bowl champ New England in total sales of NFL licensed merchandise for 2003, according to a league release.

Green Bay ranks in the top five for the eighth consecutive year and enjoys their best position since back-to-back Super Bowl appearances capping the 1996 and 1997 seasons. The Packers nudged Dallas down to the No. 4 spot.

Oakland holds the top spot for the third consecutive year.

Boosting the demand for Packer merchandise is Brett Favre's No. 4 jersey. It was the 11th most purchased jersey on in 2003, according to the league.

Rounding out the top 10 for team merchandise are No. 5 Philadelphia, followed in order by Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Tampa Bay, San Francisco and Miami.
