Packers sign OT Mike Collins

The Green Bay Packers signed offensive tackle Mike Collins Thursday, adding some needed relief to their offensive line which is already battling injury. <P>

Collins (6-5, 292 pounds) spent 2002 with Baltimore, but was inactive for all 16 of the Ravens' regular-season games. He was originally signed as a non-drafted free agent out of Wake Foreset with the Chicago Bears, April 26, 2002.

Allocated to NFL Europe in 2003, he spent the that season on reserve/non-football injury Europe League.

The Ravens waived Collins March 11.

Collins, 25, started at both tackle and guard in four seasons at Wake Forest. He was a first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection as a senior guard, Collins blocked for a team that averaged 221.6 rushing yards per game.

Collins is No. 54 (white jersey) on the Packers' roster.
