Davenport out of action with hamstring pull

Add Najeh Davenport to the list of walking wounded. The running back pulled a hamstring in Monday afternoon's practice and coach Mike Sherman said he is unsure of Davenport's status for Friday's game in Jacksonville.<P>

"His hamstrings have tightened up on him and he may be doubtful for the game," Sherman said of his backup RB.

In other recent injury/illness news, Chad Clifton was out with bursitis in his left knee, Darren Sharper sat out (hip), LB Paris Lenon was out with the flu while DT James Lee was sidelined with a staph infection which required the lancing of boils under his arm.

They join Atlas Herrion (knee), Torrance Marshall (hamstring), Chukie Nwokorie (hamstring), Larry Smith (quad), Donnell Washington (arch) and Chris Watson (hamstring) on the sidelines.

In better news, Mike Wahle wasn't the only player welcomed back to the practice field. Linebacker Hannibal Navies returned to practice Tuesday after sitting out with a back injury.
