Two additions complete practice squad

The Packers signed WR Andrae Thuman and FB Vonta Leach to their practice squad Wednesday, bringing the squad to its eight-man limit, the team announced.<p>

Thurman (5-11, 192 pounds) originally signed with the NY Giants as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Southern Oregon. Waived by the Giants in late June, Thurman was claimed on waivers by Houston July 1.

The 23-year-old Thurman stayed on with the Texans through training camp but was waived Aug. 31. He caught three passes for 15 yards and had one rush for 5 yards in preseason action for Houston.

Leach (6-0, 246 pounds) re-signed with the Packers today after the team waived him Monday. Leach, a rookie out of East Carolina, had two receptions for 12 yards and contributed three special teams tackles for Green Bay. He played in all four preseason games.

The NFL expanded the practice squad from five to eight players for the 2004 season. Green Bay's complete practice squad roster is: S Julius Curry (Michigan), G/T Atlas Herrion (Alabama), WR/KR Kelvin Kight (Florida), QB Scott McBrien (Maryland), TE Ben Steele (Mesa State), C/G Scott Wells (Tennessee), Leach and Thurman. All but Steele and Thurman were in camp with the Packers this summer.
