Gates to Open a Half Hour Early Sunday

Lambeau Field stadium gates will open at 9:30 a.m. - a half-hour earlier than normal - for the Green Bay's regular-season home finale against the Minnesota Vikings.<p>

Kickoff is set for 12 noon. As usual, gates to the stadium parking lot will open at 8 a.m.

"Because the increased security now in place does take additional time, and because some fans have not taken our advice to arrive at the turnstiles 15 or 20 minutes earlier than normal, we have discovered that a number of them have not been able to get to their seats in time for the kickoff," Harlan noted.

"We are hopeful that opening the stadium gates a half-hour earlier will provide the solution to the problem. The solution, however, obviously depends on our fans taking advantage of the opportunity to enter the stadium earlier."

AIR FORCE SALUTE: The United States Air Force will have a substantial presence at Lambeau Field Sunday - punctuated by two fly-overs.

The highlight of the visit will be a halftime enlistment ceremony which will find 150 young people from throughout the state of Wisconsin enlisting in the Air Force. Major General Todd Stewart will preside at the ceremony.

The first fly-over - by a KC-235 from the Air National Guard, will occur upon completion of the anthem, to be sung by Senior Master Sergeant Butch Gray. The second, by a C-130 from the Air Force Reserve, will take place immediately following the enlistment ceremony at halftime.

Gen. Stewart is the director of plans and programs, Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
