The Packers waived Larry Smith Tuesday, less than three weeks after re-signing the defensive lineman to alleviate injury problems at nose tackle.<P>
Smith (6-5, 292 pounds) had re-signed with the Packers Oct. 7, following injuries to starter Grady Jackson
and backup James Lee
. Jackson returned to action vs. Dallas Sunday. The Packers had the roster spot open after placing QB Doug Pederson
on injured reserve with a broken rib.
Smith, a Florida State product, played in the Tennessee, Detroit and Dallas games for the Packers. He contributed four tackles.
