Packers hobble out of Houston

Along with the carnage at running back, a few other players emerged bruised and battered Sunday night but were able to play through the pain:

— Starting receiver Robert Ferguson (shoulder)

— Starting center Grey Ruegamer (foot)

— Kick returner, No. 4 receiver Antonio Chatman (mild concussion)

— Reserve cornerback Michael Hawthorne (ankle)

— Reserve linebacker Torrance Marshall (hamstring)

Meanwhile, safety Darren Sharper again was limited to playing in the Packers' dime defensive grouping. As was the case last week, Sherman is in wait-and-see mode.

"He didn't feel like he was ready last week to play a full game last week," Packers coach Mike Sherman said. "He had a pretty significant injury, or I should say, has one, that usually takes four to six weeks until you can get back on the field, and longer till you're back to 100 percent."
