KGB earns Player of the Week award

Defensive end Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila's quadruple sack effort was recognized as the 5th year defensive end was named NFC defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.<p>

Gbaja-Biamila rolled up a career-high four sacks in the Packers' 31-14 win over the Bears in the regular-season finale Sunday. "KGB" now ranks third in franchise history for most sacks in a game. Vonnie Holliday holds the record with five sacks vs. the Buffalo Bills on Dec. 22, 2002.

The game also put Gbaja-Biamila's season sack total into double digits for the fourth consecutive time. In doing so, he matches the legendary Reggie White, to whom Sunday's effort was dedicated, a week to the day after White's tragic death.

The Player of the Week award is a first for KGB. He joins teammates Nick Barnett (Week 1) and Ahman Green (Week 9) as Packers earning the honor this season.
