Favre among most marketable players

According to an exclusive survey conducted by The Sports Business Daily, a sports marketing newsletter, Rams QB Kurt Warner is the most marketable NFL player, followed closely by Packers QB Brett Favre.<p>

Colts QB Peyton Manning ranks a distant third, with Eagles QB Donovan McNabb and Rams RB Marshall Faulk rounding out the top five. Of the top ten players, five are QBs, including Chargers QB Doug Flutie, who is seventh.

The lone defensive player in the top ten is Giants DE Michael Strahan, who finished ninth.

The Daily recently surveyed close to 70 experts from the sports marketing, TV and advertising industries as well as members of the media. All were asked: "In your opinion, who are the five most marketable players in the NFL?" Players were awarded points on a sliding scale - with five points awarded for a first-place vote, down to one point for a fifth-place vote. "% Of Points" = The number of points a player received divided by the total number of points awarded.

For example, Warner received 219 points, or 22%, of the total 1,005. The maximum points one player could receive (all first place votes) is 335, or 33% of the total. Favre received 205.5 points (20%), which represented 18 percent of the ballots.
