Fan Fest tickets sell quickly

Going, going, gone. Tickets for the Packers' first Fan Fest celebration sold out Wednesday in a mere two-and-a-half hours, the team has announced.

The team made 3,000 tickets, priced at $55, available for the event, which includes opportunities to meet people synonymous with the Packers, such as Brett Favre, Paul Hornung, LeRoy Butler, Ron Wolf, Bart Starr and Bob Harlan. Also on tap are autograph opportunities, inflatable football-themed toys for children and admission to the team's hall of fame.

"The fans' response to Fan Fest tickets was beyond anyone's expectations," Packers executive vice president and chief operating officer John Jones said in a team news release. "We're very grateful to their response and acceptance to this new event. We look forward to having a great time at Lambeau Field Atrium in March."

Fan response overwhelmed phone lines. In one letter to the editor of a Green Bay newspaper, a fan from Minnesota who had made hotel reservations in anticipation of coming said "my dreams of seeing present and past Packer greats have been decimated."

Fan Fest will be held March 11-13.
