Linebacker signs with Packers

Free agent linebacker Anthony Sessions signed with the Green Bay Packers on Tuesday. Sessions played for the Washington Redskins and Baltimore Ravens as a rookie last year.<p>

Sessions, 6-foot-0, 223 pounds, originally signed with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Tennessee. He was placed on injured reserve by the Redskins last Aug. 29 after suffering a shoulder injury. He was waived off injured reserve Oct. 30 and later signed to the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad Dec. 12 for the balance of the '01 season.

Sessions played in all 11 games as a senior in 2000 and ranked second in the Southeastern Conference in sacks at season's end with 9.5. He has been clocked at 4.59 in the '40.'

Sessions earlier had earned All-America honors at Copiah-Lincoln Junior College, where he saw action as a defensive back, kick returner and quarterback.
