Free agent linebacker signs

Garrison played at South Carolina

The Green Bay Packers Tuesday signed linebacker Jeremiah Garrison.

Garrison, a 6-foot, 234-pound player out of South Carolina, originally signed as a non-drafted free agent with the San Diego Chargers in 2004, but was waived before training camp began. He spent the last two weeks of the '04 season on the practice squad of the New Orleans Saints, who released him last month.

A four-year letterman and team captain at South Carolina, Garrison led the team with 101 tackles (65 solo) in 2003. He blocked six kicks as a high school player in Belton, S.C.
