Green wants a new deal

Running back feels he has been loyal to Packers

Ahman Green says he has yet to receive a contract offer from the Green Bay Packers. The running back, who is on injured reserve with a ruptured quadriceps tendon, will be a free agent after this season.

"It boggles my mind," Green said during an interview for "The Green and Gold SHow," that will air on Time Warner Cable. "The fact that they haven't done it, does it hurt? Yeah, because I've busted my butt since Day 1."

Green believes that teams should reward players who are loyal.

"I don't blow my horn too much, but in this situation I have to, because I would say I've earned that." Green rushed for more than 1,000 in five straight seasons up until this year. He had 273 yards when he was injured against the Minnesota Vikings on Oct. 23.

Green turns 29 on Feb. 16 and will be entering his eighth NFL season next year. NFL teams probably will pass on offering him a big contract because of the nature of his injury. He may not be ready to work out for teams until next July or August.
