Hicks visits with Packers

The Green Bay Packers took a look at free agent running back Skip Hicks in a private workout on Tuesday, according to reports. The Packers are seeking a veteran backup to Ahman Green.<p>

Hicks, 27, played behind Eddie George last year for the Tennessee Titans. He rushed for a career-high 142 yards in a 26-20 Titans win over the Packers last December, then injured his hamstring and missed the final two games.

Skips is entering his fifth season. He averaged 6.1 yards per carry and finished with 199 yards last year. He was waived during the preseason by the Chicago Bears last season, then signed with Tennessee.

The Packers also have visited with veteran running backs has also visited with Cincinnati's Ki-Jana Carter and Carolina's Richard Huntley.

In other news, the Los Angeles Daily News quoted Cal State-Northridge quarterback Marcus Brady as saying he will sign with the Packers as an undrafted rookie free agent and attend the team's June 3-12 minicamp.

The 6-1, 195-pound Brady holds two Division I-AA passing records, having thrown for 12,479 yards and 109 touchdowns in four seasons with the Matadors. He passed on an offer to sign with Winnipeg of the Canadian Football League.
