Assistant coach moves on

Gill gets job at University of Buffalo

The Packers will be seeking a director of player development in the offseason for the second straight year. Turner Gill, a former standout QB at Nebraska and a longtime Cornhuskers assistant coach, was hired as head coach at the University at Buffalo last week.

Gill, 43, replaced Edgar Bennett in the role of overseeing player development with the Packers this year after Bennett was promoted to running backs coach.

Gill, who also is an offensive assistant, will remain with the Packers through the end of the season before beginning his duties at Buffalo on Jan. 3.
