Renovation moving along

The team is scheduled to move into its new locker room facilities by mid-July, just in time for the start of training camp. The Packers have not released the dates of when training camp will officially begin, but if the schedule is similar to recent seasons, rookies and some free agents will report the week of July 15 while the entire team will begin two-a-day workouts on July 20. The Packers play their first exhibition game Aug. 10 at Philadelphia.

The new locker room, training room, weight room, equipment rooms, and player-related facilities will be on the southeast side of the stadium under the plan of the $295 million renovation. The current facilities are on the northwest side of the stadium.

As the team begins preparing for the upcoming season, Packers administrators also will be on the move toward the southeast side of the stadium. Their new offices are expected to be completed by July 29, according to John Jones, senior vice president of administration.

"There's a lot happening very quickly," said Jones.

Packers fans also will be headed in a new direction when visiting the team's Pro Shop. By early August, the Packer Pro Shop is expected to be operating on the ground floor of the Titletown atrium. It currently is located on the north side of the stadium near the administration offices.

More than 40 percent of the work for the stadium project has been completed, according to Stuart Zadra, project manager with Hammes Co.
