Deanna Favre gets scare

Private plane she was in had to make emergency landing

Deanna Favre, wife of Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre, was on board a private plane that had to make an unscheduled landing in Phoenix after experiencing problems with its hydraulic system, the Associated Press reported today.

"Everybody is home safely," said Becky Stuart, a Favre family assistant.

Stuart said Deanna Favre was in Las Vegas on business, working on fundraising for Hurricane Katrina relief. She was originally scheduled to land in Hattiesburg, Miss., at 7:30 p.m. Monday but didn't make it back until late Monday night after switching planes.

"She said they were completely confident in their pilot at all times," Stuart said. "He kept them informed every step of the way."

Stuart said Brett Favre, who has yet to announce whether he'll play for the Packers next season, was not on the airplane.

Favre is a native of Kiln, Miss., and the family lives in Mississippi in the off-season.
