Ex-Packers sign with new teams

Former Packers cornerback Terrell Buckley and linebacker Jude Waddy each signed one-year contracts with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Denver Broncos, respectively.<p>

The 5-9, 176-pound Buckley has played in 157 games in 10 seasons with Green Bay, Miami, Denver and New England. He was a member of the Patriots' Super Bowl champion team last season, playing in 15 games with one start.

Buckley, 31, has 41 career interceptions. He was a first-round draft pick by the Packers in 1992 after leaving Florida State as the school's all-time interceptions leader. He played three seasons in Green Bay before he was traded to the Dolphins in April of 1995.

Waddy, who was voted to the All-NFL Europe team this spring with the Berlin Thunder, played two seasons with Green Bay (1998-99) and registered 75 tackles (56 solo) in 27 games (eight starts). The 6-2, 228-pounder was also a strong contributor on special teams, posting 10 career stops. The Packers waived Waddy Aug. 28, 2000. He signed with Tampa Bay April 9, 2001 and went through training camp with the club before being waived Aug. 27, 2001.

Waddy,26, was a four-year starter at William & Mary, playing in 45 career games with 41 starts. He earned All-Eastern College Athletic Conference honors as a senior in 1997, and earned his bachelor's degree in kinesiology.
