Legendary guards to unveil books

Former Packers guard Jerry Kramer and Fuzzy Thurston will reunite with Willie Davis, Bob Skoronski and Zeke Bratkowski to unveil Kramer's new edition of "Instant Replay" and Thurston's new book, "What a Wonderful World, The Fuzzy Thurston Story," on Sept. 10 in Green Bay.

The book release event is scheduled to take place prior to the Green Bay Packers' season opener against the Chicago Bears.

Besides the aforementioned players, other members of the Lombardi championship teams who are prominently featured in the books will be on hand. Tickets go on sale today and include first edition copies of both books. Go to jerrykramer.com for more information, or call (800) 708-1078 to order tickets for the event.

"Instant Replay," has been hailed by the New York Times as "the best behind the scenes glimpse of pro-football ever produced." Written with Dick Schaap, Kramer helped present an eye-opening page turner that spent 37 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list. This ground-breaking book afforded fans unprecedented access into a champion pro football franchise before there were such outlets as ESPN, NFL Network or the internet to expose their inner workings. The idea that the locker room was a sacred place, impenetrable by outsiders was revolutionized by Kramer and Schaap.

Out of print for over a decade, the book has been updated to include a special tribute to the late Schaap and comments about the book by the likes of Billy Crystal, Mitch Albom, Tony Kornhieser and others. New photographs have been added to the classic pictures of Kramer, his teammates, and Lombardi from the original edition.

The life story of Thurston is one of adversity and triumphs, about how one mans indomitable perseverance and zest for life triumphed over the odds. From growing up without a father, to his fateful trade to the then-losing Green Bay Packers from the championship Colts, rising and falling fortunes, and the most formidable opponent of his life – cancer – Fuzzy Thurston refused to stay down.

This inspirational story comes alive in a deluxe 8 x 10 hardcover book, packed with more than 40 never before seen photos from Thurston's personal collection.

A limited number of tickets for this exclusive VIP event are being put on sale to the general public. Fans are invited to meet Jerry, Fuzzy and some of their teammates that are featured in the books.
