Training camp notes

The Green Bay Packers went through their first full two-a-day session of training camp practices today at Clarke Hinkle Field in Green Bay. About 2,000 fans were on hand for each of the practices.<p>

News of the day: Defensive end/tackle Vonnie Holliday reported to camp. Holliday is in a contract dispute with the Packers over an extension. He has one year remaining on his current contract. He had been hoping that he and the Packers would negotiate an extension this off-season, but talks have been lukewarm at best.

"It's been very frustrating," said Holliday. "All off-season I have been anticipating something happening. You know how it is when you anticipate something happening and it doesn't happen. It's a big letdown. But they're still working at this and it's going to get done."

Sidelined: Defensive back Bhawoh Jue (groin), cornerback Tod McBride (back), offensive tackles Kevin Barry (hamstring) and Earl Dotson (knee).

Linebacker Nate Wayne participated in part of the practices, but sat out of scrimmages. Safety Antuan Edwards also did not participate in scrimmages, which were limited to "thud" tackling, or two-hand tag.

Who's hot: The Packers receivers. Donald Driver, Javon Walker and David Martin made some nice catches during the morning and afternoon practices that drew applause from the railbirds. Who's not: Defensive end Jamal Reynolds is still having trouble getting around Green Bay's tackles, especially left tackle Chad Clifton. Reynolds doesn't appear to be any bigger, or quicker this year than at this time last year.

Roster moves: None.

Quote: "In my three years of being here, I think we have the most athletic team. Now we just have to put it together and see what happens." – defensive back Antuan Edwards.

Weather: Partly cloudy, about 80 degrees and breezy.

Next practice: Sunday, July 28 beginning at 8:45 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.
