"He actually wanted to go this morning and I held him out," said Sherman.
Glenn was held out of the team's special teams practice this afternoon as well.
"I know he's eager to be back with us," said offensive coordinator Tom Rossley.
News of the day: Glenn misses practice for first time with a knee injury.
Sidelined: Defensive back Bhawoh Jue (groin), offensive tackles Kevin Barry (hamstring), Earl Dotson (knee), wide receivers Terry Glenn (knee) and Charles Lee (hamstring), tight end David Martin (cramps), fullback Joey Dozier, and defensive tackle John Gilmore (sinus infection) did not practice at all. Linebacker Nate Wayne (knee) and safety Antuan Edwards (knee) were again limited in practices.
Who's hot: Guard Bill Ferrario and defensive lineman Billy Lyon got into a brief scrap during the morning practice, but it was quickly broken up.
"It was no big deal," Ferrario said. "It happens."
Who's not: The offensive linemen trying to secure roster spots as backups. Thus far in camp, Sherman has not been impressed with them.
"Considering (offensive line coach) Larry Beightol is our sixth or seventh offensive linemen to go into the game, we're not in great shape there right now," Sherman said. "I'm looking for somebody to step forward. Obviously, Frank (Winters) is Frank and can do an assortment of things. But we need some of those young guys to step up and separate themselves. They are all kind of milling together. No one has jumped out there. ... They are all about the same and I have a lot of concern about that at this present time."
Weather: Sunny, hot and muggy. High of 89 degrees.
