Training camp notes

During the morning practice, offensive tackle Mark Tauscher suffered a deep bruise to his left foream and sat out for the rest of the day. Coach Mike Sherman originally thought that the injury might be a sprained elbow but X-rays showed that the third-year pro suffered a deep bruise.<p>

It is uncertain if Tauscher will play this Saturday against the Arizona Cardinals. If the coaches hold Tauscher out, rookie free agent Kevin Barry will start in place of Tauscher at right tackle.

Lineacker switch: With Nate Wayne nursing a sore Achilles, the Packers experimented with Rob Holmberg at strong side or Buck linebacker while Paris Lenon played weakside, or Will linebacker. Holmberg has been filling in for Wayne on the weakside for most of the camp. Lenon played in NFL Europe this spring and has had a strong training camp.

Na'il Diggs is the starter at strongside linebacker, but the coaches wanted to give Lenon a look at that position.

Roster moves: The Packers today signed free agent wide receiver Andy McCullough and waived wide receiver Windrell Hayes.
