Roster move

The Green Bay Packers today signed cornerback Jason Suttle and released fullback Jerry Westbrook. Suttle, a third-year pro played for the University of Wisconsin from 1996 to '99.<p>

The Packers had as many as seven defensive backs sidelined with injuries in recent days. Suttle joined the team for Friday morning's practice.

Suttle was placed on waivers by the Houston Texans on Aug. 2. He played for the Denver Broncos in 1999 and 2000. He was in Green Bay's training camp in for a few days in 2000 and was released.

Suttle finished third in Badgers history with 24 passes defensed and ninth on the school's all-time interception list with nine.

Westbrooks was signed by the Packers on Aug. 14 when the team placed safety Scott Frost on season-ending injured reserve.
