Packers-Bears: Key matchups

Packers will have hands full with Hester; Driver vs. Bears CBs; Anderson vs. Clifton

Packers coverage units vs. Bears return specialist Devin Hester
Green Bay should be credited with propelling Hester on his record-breaking season as a returner -- six touchdowns and counting. His pro debut in the season opener Sept. 10 at Lambeau Field was punctuated by an 84-yard punt return for a touchdown.

Hester is a dual threat on punt and kickoff returns, and the Packers haven't been good defending either, ranking 23rd on punt returns (average of 9.5 yards allowed) and 19th on kickoff returns (22.6). Punting the football down the middle isn't advised, but directional kicking isn't a forte for strong-legged punter Jon Ryan.

Packers LT Chad Clifton vs. Bears DE Mark Anderson
Like Hester in his first meeting with the Packers, Anderson' sensational rookie season commenced with one of the Bears' three sacks of Brett Favre, a season high for the quarterback. Anderson figures to get more playing time Sunday in relief of starting right end Alex Brown, who also had a sack in that first encounter.

Anderson is coming off a two-sack performance at Detroit and, with 12 sacks, has the league rookie record of 14 1/2 by Tennessee's Jevon Kearse in his sights. Clifton excels in pass protection, but Anderson's quickness off the edge could weigh on the mind of the veteran tackle, who is prone to false-start penalties, particularly on the road.

Packers WR Donald Driver vs. Bears CBs Nate Vasher and Charles Tillman
Driver has a career-high 89 catches for 1,272 yards. He will be going against Vasher, who returned to the lineup last week after missing two games with a hamstring injury and was only so-so as the shadow of Lions WR Roy Williams.

Tillman (if he plays) has a strained back.
