Freeman signs with Eagles

Former Packer wide receiver Antonio Freeman signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles Saturday night, according to reports.<p>

The deal is reported to be worth $1.7 million.

The Packers released Freeman, 30, June 3. The former Pro Bowler was due to earn a base salary of $4.3 million this season and count $5.728 million against the Packers' salary cap in the fourth year of his 7-year, $42 million deal signed after the 1998 season.

Freeman is reunited with Eagles head coach Andy Reid, a former assistant in Green Bay, and running back Dorsey Levens who also signed with Philly as a free agent this summer.

'Free' will also find more familiarity with the Eagles'West Coach offense which is similar to that run by the Pack.
