Green tour continues

Running back set to visit with Houston, Oakland after meeting with Broncos

Ahman Green is expected to meet with the Houston Texans today in Houston, then travel to Oakland and visit with the Raiders, according to reports. The Packers running back became an unrestricted free agent on Friday.

Green met with the Denver Broncos on Friday, but it appears that he may be out of the running after the Tennessee Titans released running back Travis Henry on Saturday. Henry was due an $8.3 million roster bonus on Monday. He reportedly was on his way to visit Denver on Saturday. The Broncos are in the market for a running back after trading Tatum Bell to the Detroit Lions last week for Dre Bly.

Henry, 28, is two years younger than Green and is coming off a season in which he rushed for 1,211 yards for a 4.5-yard per carry average. Green, 30, finished with 1,059 yards and had a 4.0-yard avg. in 2006.

Green's familiarity with ex-Packers coach and current Houston assistant head coach Mike Sherman will play in his favor with the Texans. It is believed that Green is seeking a long-term contract that averages $5 million per season. He made $2.75 million last year with the Packers after signing a one-year, incentive laden deal.

The Packers are reportedly waiting to see what kind of offers, if any, Green receives before offering a contract to him.
