Family Night set for Aug. 4

Popular event drew more than 62,000 fans last year

The Green Bay Packers announced today that the team's annual scrimmage at Lambeau Field will take place on Saturday, Aug. 4.

Family Night features an intra-squad scrimmage between the Packers' offense and defense. Activities get under way in the stadium at 6 p.m., followed by on-field football drills at 6:30 and the scrimmage at approximately 7:30.

"We are excited to once again host families and fans of all ages at Family Night," said Packers President and Chief Operating Officer John Jones. "Now in its seventh year, Family Night is a great training camp tradition. Seeing our younger fans experience a game-like atmosphere in Lambeau Field is always a treat and we'll be welcoming fans from all over the state for the evening. It's a unique and exciting way for our fans to get a preview of the 2007 team."

Included in the evening's activities will be the Shirt Off Our Back feature, with approximately 20 jerseys – all of which will have been worn by Packers players in the just-completed scrimmage – to be given away in a random drawing, other entertainment and a fireworks show to conclude the night.

A popular summer attraction, the event drew 62,701 fans in 2006, 62,492 in 2005, 60,217 in 2004, 48,898 in 2001, 50,240 in 2000 and 46,420 in 1999. ‘Family Night' did not take place for two years (2002-03) during the Lambeau Field renovation.
