Bennett Bowl-A-Thon set for June 13

Many players, coaches to participate in event that has raised thousands for charity

A thumbs up to Green Bay Packers running backs coach Edgar Bennett, who is leading the charge for the fifth annual Edgar Bennett Celebrity Bowl-A-Thon on June 13 in Green Bay. The annual event has raised thousands of dollars for charity organizations.

The Packers announced today that Aaron Rodgers, Daryn Colledge, Vernand Morency and Scott Wells are among the many players who have agreed to participate in the event, which is open to the public. Players and coaches will be getting their bowling shoes and shirts ready for the fund-raiser at Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley.

Humana is the presenting sponsor for the event that will raise money for The Angel Fund for Children with Cancer, Inc., an organization dedicated to giving financial and social support to families residing in Brown County whose children are receiving treatment for cancer or for bone marrow failure.

Registration for the evening begins at 6 p.m., with the bowling event and silent auction to start at 6:30.

Area businesses and individuals are encouraged to support the effort. Lane sponsorships are available as a way to join the fun-filled evening and bowl with a member of the Green Bay Packers family.

Lane sponsorships, priced at $1,000, are available for a team of four bowlers per lane. Participants will be joined by one Packers celebrity and will receive their company sign displayed above their lane, a shirt and team photo, plus access to the Kraft Foods buffet and soda.

Individuals may participate as well for $250, with each bowler placed four to a lane, to be joined by one Packers celebrity. All participants will receive a shirt and lane photo, plus access to the Kraft Foods buffet and soda.

For more information about sponsorships and to sign up, please contact the Packers' community outreach department at (920) 569-7500.
