Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it is likely a four-year deal. Last year, the Packers signed quarterback Ingle Martin and offensive lineman Tony Moll to four-year contracts. Martin (148th overall) received a signing bonus of $172,000 and Moll (165th overall) got a bonus of $145,000.
Clowney was selected in the fifth round (157th overall) of April's NFL draft. He was one of two Virginia Tech Hokies drafted by Green Bay in April, joining safety Aaron Rouse, a third-round pick.
Clowney caught a team-high 34 passes in both his junior and senior seasons. He averaged 18.2 yards per reception his junior year. As a senior, Clowney underwent an emergency appendectomy, but managed to return to game action just nine days after his surgery.
