Vote for Marques Anderson for Rookie of the Week!

Safety Marques Anderson is one of five finalists for Pepsi NFL Rookie Of The Week honors for games played on September 22-23, the NFL announced Tuesday.<p> Fans can vote for one of these five players on from Tuesday morning through Wednesday afternoon to determine the Pepsi NFL Rookie Of The Week.<p>

Anderson joins wide receiver Andre Davis of the Cleveland Browns, tight end Randy McMichael of the Miami Dolphins, running back Clinton Portis of the Denver Broncos and wide receiver Donte' Stallworth of the New Orleans Saints as this week's candidates.

The Pepsi NFL Rookie Of The Week will be announced Thursday on It is the first weekly NFL honor to be selected solely by NFL fans.

Anderson returned an interception for a 78-yard touchdown, recorded one tackle and recovered a fumble in the Packers' 37-31 win over Detroit. Anderson, making his NFL debut, intercepted a pass on a Detroit third-and-four at the 22-yard line and ran 78 yards to tie the score at seven in the first quarter. It was his first NFL touchdown. Anderson is the second rookie to return an interception for a touchdown in his first career game since Andre Weathers of the New York Giants in 1999 (Saints' James Allen did it in Week 1 this year).

After the regular season, five players will be nominated for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on throughout the month of January. The winner will be announced at a press conference at Super Bowl XXXVII in San Diego.
