Favre returns to practice

Quarterback expected to miss some practices this week due to death in family

Brett Favre returned to participate in the Green Bay Packers' Sunday evening practice after missing the morning practice due to a death in the family.

Rocky Byrd, the stepfather of Favre's wife, Deanna, died of a sudden heart-attack on Saturday. Byrd and his wife, Ann, lived on Favre's estate in Hattiesburg, Miss.

Favre is expected to practice Monday afternoon, but may miss both practices on Tuesday and return for one or both practices on Thursday, according to a report.

Favre struggled, at times, during practice Sunday evening at Clarke Hinkle Field. He was intercepted three times - twice by cornerback Charles Woodson, and once by cornerback Antonio Malone.
