Not Favre from 40,000

When Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre takes the field on Monday night against the Chicago Bears for his 166th career game, he can reach 40,000 career passing yards the third fastest in history.

If Favre throws for 262 yards, he will reach 40,000 yards faster than all quarterbacks but Dan Marino (153 games from 1983-99) and Warren Moon (165 from 1984-2000). Dan Fouts (1973-87) reached the 40,000 yard plateau in 168 games, John Elway (1983-98) in 183 games, and Johnny Unitas (1956-73) in 206 games.

Favre enters the game having thrown for 39,738 yards.
