I have followed West Texas football for years since I am an alum. Also I'm a Bears fan, but very happy that the Pack signed Dalton Bell. He is a fine young man with a great work ethic. He has a very strong arm and works hard.
Having followed him since high school, I think with work on the practice squad he will make a fine addition to the team. He did play two and half quarters with Carolina. The final game he was 9 of 17 but he was jittery being his first game. They really never gave him a chance though they were high on him. He is better than the quarterback they signed at the end of camp from Oregon. Dalton is big and strong and can move out of the pocket if he has to.
Just my opinion having watched him play several college games. His small university has sent several players to the pros.

Enjoy Pack's victory over Eagles
I have been reading the blogs about the Packer victory and to my dismay, it seems like most "fans" are complaining about the victory. It has been bothering me and I wanted to give my two cents (which is what it is probably worth).
Did the Packers play a perfect, great or even really good game? No, they didn't. I agree the O-line had trouble, as did our running game and our passing game. That made our O look bad, I agree, and I was yelling the whole time with all of you. Yes we have work to do, yes there were mistakes and yes I was scared for the entire game.
BUT WE BEAT THE EAGLES! I just want to point out the obvious. McNabb, Westbrook, Reggie Brown and L.J. Smith- ALL quality players in their positions. The Eagles D- hey, when you can cut J Trotter, your D must be pretty darn good. The Eagles D is solid, their O is better than solid. And we beat them. Enjoy it. I believe you make your own luck through hard work and dedication. I thought the Packers played hard, and though they made mistakes, they came out on top. I do hope they can make changes to become more effective so I don't have so many grey hairs by the end of the season, but I still am proud of the win.
So please cry, yell and curse with me, but don't forget to congratulate a "W" in the process. That is the goal, and we started off on the right foot. GO PACK!
P.S. When Al Harris returned, that is heart. He would have gotten the same paycheck if he stayed in the locker room. Way to be a role model and show your dedication AL!

Thompson dropped the ball with offense
1. Victory for the Packer Defense & Special Teams…GREAT JOB!! Let's hope the defense can hold until the offense can come around some.
Now the Offense.
This year the offensive line play was to vastly improve…it was pathetic in the run blocking and worse in the pass protection…Brett could have been sacked 8 to 10 times if not for his own will to complete the play.
"Oh…Ted"…. the players you passed on or could of had:
Randy Moss: Catches 9 Yards 183
Chris Brown: Carries: 19 Yards 175
Michael Turner: Carries: 10 Yards 41 Limited Duty
Ahman Green: Carries: 16 Yards 73, Catches 4 Yards 23, Green's carries were a smash mouth run it down your throat type of carriers.
Ted you left the running back duties to a part time injury prone player in Morency & a Rookie who tries, a Rookie Full Back. It seems that if Driver goes down we are up a creek. We go from being one of the best screen teams to non existent, we need to still leave a tight end in the back field because we can't block. We will now be throwing 40 times a game, defensive safeties will not have to play up to the line…because they don't have to worry about the run.
TED THOMPSON …I CAN APPRECIATE SOME OF THE THINGS YOU DO AND HOW YOU HAVE DONE THEM…I WANTED YOU TO SUCCEED….BUT….YOUR ATTITUDE AND NEGLECT OF THE OFFENSE IS PATHEDIC AND RECKLESS, AND FOR A MAN OF YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND BACKGROUND TO LET THIS HAPPEN IS TERRIBLE, AND I FEEL SORRY THAT YOU HAVE PUT BRETT IN A POSITION TO MAKE GOLD OUT OF CRAP!! IT JUST DIDN'T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Packers should have made trade with Browns
Does everyone realize that there is a great chance that the Cleveland Browns could end up with the worse record in the NFL. This will give the Dallas Cowboys the number one overall pick. Turning down the Browns offer to trade number ones does not seem so bad now. TT will never take a risk however.
This could be another Hershel Walker deal for the Cowboys. Oh well our number one pick does look menacing in his street clothes walking the sideline during games.
