Packers-Redskins: Injury update

Jackson returns to practice for Packers; Randle El questionable for Redskins

C Scott Wells
has been ruled out for Sunday after suffering a fractured eye socket in the third quarter of the loss to the Bears last Sunday night. The absence of Wells for at least one game -- the team is hopeful of getting him back after the bye next week -- leaves the Packers without their most effective lineman from last season and the early part of this season. Jason Spitz, a second-year player with plenty of starting experience at both guard spots, will move to center.

OL Jason Spitz, a second-year player with plenty of starting experience at both guard spots, will make his first start at center for Scott Wells.

WR Greg Jennings won't be tested in a practice environment until Friday. The medical staff was going to play it safe with him anyhow, as it has in recent weeks, because of a lingering sore hamstring. Jennings, though, suffered a sprained shoulder in the last game, and the injury is of greater concern for whether Jennings will be available Sunday.

RB Vernand Morency will be held back until later in the week so he has ample recovery for knee soreness that flared up after the last game.

RB Brandon Jackson isn't on the injury report and participated in the full practice Wednesday, albeit in a scout-team role. The rookie missed the last two games because of a strained shin. He will be questionable to play Sunday.

CB Al Harris had limited work Wednesday as he copes with back spasms that have dogged him since the start of the season. Harris is on a modified practice schedule, with his involvement increased as the week progresses.

WR Antwaan Randle El
didn't practice because of the mildly pulled hamstring he suffered last Sunday against Detroit. He's questionable for Sunday's game at Green Bay.

WR James Thrash (two catches, 11 yards) would make a second straight start if Randle El can't play.

LB Marcus Washington didn't practice because of the moderately pulled hamstring he suffered against the Lions. He's questionable for the Packers.

S Greg Wesley missed Wednesday's practice with a sore knee. The team thinks he can work Thursday.

DE Phillip Daniels didn't practice because of the separated right shoulder he suffered against the Lions. He's questionable for Sunday.

WR Santana Moss practiced for the first time since Sept. 21. He strained a groin two days later against the New York Giants.

FB Mike Sellers didn't practice with the bruised heel that limited him in practice last week before he had a career game (eight touches, 60 yards, two touchdowns) against the Lions.
