Overcome by a myriad of injuries this season, defensive back Bhawoh Jue was placed on season-ending injured reserve today. The Packers also released offensive lineman Barrett Brooks and elevated defensive backs Erwin Swiney and Todd Franz to the active roster.<p>
Jue, a second-year pro, has been hampered by groin, hernia and ankle injuries since the post-draft minicamp. He pulled his left hamstring in Green Bay
's Oct. 7 victory over the Chicago Bears. Prior to that game, Jue missed Green Bay's Sept. 15 game at Detroit with an ankle injury. He missed the early part of training camp with a groin/hernia injury that he re-aggravated during the spring. That injury dates back to last season.
"I'm frustrated by the injuries, obviously, and his lack of availability to our special teams and to our team," said Packers coach and GM Mike Sherman on Wednesday. "That's been frustrating. They have affected his progress because he's not out there."
Franz and Swiney were in Green Bay's training camp this season and are familiar with the Packers' schemes. Green Bay entered its game Sunday with a number of injuries to its defensive backs. Darren Sharper (hamstring), Mike McKenzie (groin), Tyrone Williams (Hamstring) and Tod McBride (knee) were on the Packers' injury report last week.
In another transaction, WR Devin Lewis was re-signed to the practice squad.
